Blog No. 76 – Why I Finally Created a Home for the “Unplugged” Project Management Book

For the past few months, this space has been home to project management and Insurance domain rants, real talk retrospectives, and the occasional vent about scope creep. And through it all, a handful of you have kept asking the same thing:

Where can I find more of this in one place? Is there a way to get all your unfiltered thoughts without scrolling through archives? When are you going to put this into a book?

Well, I finally listened. I just added a new tab to this blog called “Unplugged.” It’s a dedicated page for the book. No corporate fluff. No jargon. Just the stuff they don’t teach you in the PMP prep course gathered into one place.

Let me tell you a bit about why this page exists and what you’ll find there.

Here is the truth – I didn’t write Project Management Unplugged because the world needed another book. I wrote it because I got tired of pretending. Tired of pretending that Gantt charts tell the whole story. Tired of pretending that risk logs actually prepare you for the chaos of a real stakeholder meeting. Tired of reading books that made me feel like a failure every time my project veered off the perfect theoretical path. This book is the conversation you have after the meeting ends. The one where someone finally says, okay, but how do we actually fix this? And now, for the first time, it has a proper home on this site.

If you click over to the “Unplugged” tab up there in the menu, you’ll find the book cover and description so you can see what you’re getting into. You’ll find a few kind words from fellow PMs who’ve been through the trenches and actually found this stuff useful. And yes, you’ll find the buy button for those ready to grab a copy. But more than that, you’ll find a space that reflects what this blog has always been about: honesty, practicality, and a healthy disregard for corporate nonsense.

If you have been following this blog for a while, you know I don’t do salesy. So think of this less as a “buy my thing” announcement and more as a heads up: here’s where to find the manual if you want to dive deeper.

The blog isn’t going anywhere. The free rants will keep coming. This is just more, for those who want it. Whether you have been here since day one or you just stumbled across this post, I’m glad you’re here. Curious? The door is open. Go find the “Unplugged” tab at the top of the site and take a look.

And if you do grab a copy? Shoot me a message / comment. I owe you a virtual high five. Thanks for being here. Thanks for reading. And thanks for caring about the real side of project management.
